Idea is to create a platform for people to exchange books withing their city.
When you register - you need to add books that you’re willing to exchange, then you can see books from other people on the map or in the list of available books within your location.
You can send and receive exchange offers. When you received a new offer you can choose 1 book from the offer initiator’s book list and by selecting the book you’re accepting the offer.
After that - chat between 2 of you is created and you can discuss details (time, specific location) of an exchange.
After the exchange - you need to press the button “Confirm exchange” so books are transferred to your respective libraries.
Rating - so we can encourage people share decent books, in good condition and be nice in general
Badges - bring a bit of gamification, when shared your first book - receive badge "1st share badge", "Selective reader (3 declined offers) badge" etc.
User can share badges on social media. (additional word of mouth marketing)
I think it would be best to launch in 1 city at a time,
Strategy that I’m seeing:
Ads. Book stores referral systems (affiliate marketing) - for our users we can ask for discounts and get small commision for each book sale. Digital books affiliate marketing (google books, kindle).
Rating system - each book that you're exchanging improves your rating, but each book should have some calculated value (based on price, popularity etc.). If you're getting free book and not giving anything in return - your rating goes down.
